The quality of the candles (scent and size) continues to decrease and diminish while the prices continue to increase for these previously high-quality candles. They no longer are worth their premium prices, and are now generally on par with candles sold at the supermarket. Newell (the new owner of Yankee Candle) seems intent on squeezing out as much profit as possible while cutting corners, decreasing candle sizes, and using lower quality ingredients.

It even reminds me of when I actually was on a tropical island during harvest time of their fruit orchards, the smell right after the few starts to evaporate. Not heavy, not grandma perfume. Delicious fruity paradise.
