I couldn’t determine a forward or even an underlying note. When lit, I found it the same way. I thought the description stated mint as one of the scents, but I don’t seem to detect that. The scent is not displeasing, but not what I expected.

The name “North Pole Hideaway” and the pictures on the front with peppermint sticks and leaves surely did not give the indication that the candle would smell very powdery. It is a light blue candle and a light powdery scent. I’m sure it will burn fine but I won’t be keeping it. Do not care for that type of scent, especially around the Holidays.

This candle gives off a wonderful smell of bergamot mixed with a very nice arctic mint that is mixed in with some musk. The three wick design allows for a good throw with even burn and illumination of the candle. Highly recommended for the holiday season for oneself or as a gift!

It quickly provided a Christmas scent throughout my kitchen and living room area. I have only lit the candle for an hour as I want the candle to last as long as possible. I am a big candle lover and this was the perfect candle for fall and Christmas season!

The candle is absolutely not what I think of when I think North Pole or Christmas. It honestly smells like laundry and you sniff hard enough, maybe you can get some mint smells. The notes that they list are not accurate in my opinion. If you’re looking for a traditional Christmas candle, this is not it. Would not recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This candle is perfect for the winter season I recently received Yankee Candle’s North Pole Hideaway 3-wick for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review and I absolutely loved this candle. I love strong candles with great throw distance and this candle having 3 wicks allows it to fill the air of the whole house with a delightful winter scent. As someone who has only been in the snow a few times in my life this candle reminds me of a clean snowy day. I immediately could smell the arctic mint, glacial water, and white musk. This candle is refreshing and will have the whole house smelling like a cold winter day without the house actually being cold. This candle really doesn’t need too much burn time to fill the air with its beautiful scent but even if you leave it burning for a while it has quality wax that doesn’t burn in a wasteful way. My whole family loved the scent of this candle and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality candle for the winter season.
