Tangerine & Vanilla Sugar Cookies Recipe

Tangerine Vanilla Cookie
  • 1 cup butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons fresh tangerine juice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons tangerine zest
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar for at least 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
  • 3. Add in eggs, tangerine juice, vanilla extract, and tangerine zest. Stir to combine.
  • 4. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix just until combined. Do not over-mix.
  • 5. Drop dough by the spoonful on to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes. For larger cookies, aim for 11+ minutes. For smaller cookies, aim for 9 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid over-baking.
  • 6. Optional: When removing cookies from oven, sprinkle with sugar and top with extra tangerine zest.
