Breaks the mold
I don't usually care for the beach-fresh candles, but I LOVE Ocean Star! It is not too perfumey or overpowering for my tastes. It simply gives you that "ahhhh" feeling while it burns! Beautiful fragrance.

Not quite oceany enough.
There is a lot to love about this fragrance, but for me it comes too close to the "dryer sheet" range and not near enough to the salty ocean smell I want. I would prefer it if it was "brisker" and less floral. What makes it better than the average fabric-softener-type fragrance: it does not have the strong powdery scent common to most. Throw is medium to strong, almost a "whole house" fragrance. The bright blue wax makes it one of Yankee's more attractive candles.

Nice Job Yankee!
Yankee did a great job on this one. It is strong enough to scent the main part of the house well yet it is still light and refreshing. The beautiful color and pretty label are great too, really a very pretty candle.
We first got this to bring along on our son's first visit to Walt Disney World. We burned it whenever we were able while on vacation and now when burning it at home it brings up the wonderful memories we made.
This is a great scent to enjoy in spring and summer. It has floral and citrusy notes but also really reminds me of the ocean. I don't know what to call that scent but it's there, and this comes from someone who has grew up in Key Largo :) Please keep this unchanged and available for a long time Yankee!

It's nice,
When I first bought this candle I was in love with it, don't get me wrong I still like it, but when I lit it, it smelled very different form how it smelled before it was lit.
It's actually got a soapy sort of smell to it. It sort of reminds me of a hotel. I originally bought it to throw a nice beach scent into my newly beach decorated bathroom, but it ended up not smelling very much like a beach to me. It's got a crisp clean scent to it, and it's still pleasant, but I feel a more appropriate name could work really well with it too! When I feel like the air seems sort of stale this is the candle I usually light to refreshen and make the air smell soft and clean!

Relaxing, Calming and great throw
I have to say that I liked this scent on cold but when burning, it is a beautiful scent and it just is taken to another level. The color of the wax is so pretty and tranquil. (Blue hues are known to induce relaxation). It has an awesome throw without being cloying. I love the fact that it is not a sweet, sickening, or perfumey scent in any way. It reminds me of salty sea air scents. It is calming, soothing, relaxing, and takes you to 'that place'. This is the perfect candle to burn to de-stress after a long day. The imagery that best come to mind with the scent is 'fresh, salty, warm air with just a gentle breeze.' Definitely a re-purchase for me.

Beautiful a clean fresh scent!
I really love this candle. It is a refreshing clean scent. So perfect for spring. I have burned it multiple times in a large room and it always fills the entire area without being overpowering. Floral scents and other ocean or sand scents tend to give me a headache and make me feel queasy. I usually go for food scents but this just smelled so good I figured I would give it a try, It is wonderful and how pretty the jar and the candle color was just an added bonus! I love it I am going to buy a second one just to make sure I don't run out.

I found this scent extremely strong and did not like it at all. Honestly, it reminded me of the scent of a cheap hotel soap or a cheap perfume. I did not find it to be a pleasant scent at all. Sorry, just my opinion, of course.

Nice strong scent throw.....
I have been disappointed in the strength of some of my yankee candles......not so with this one. Cold and warmth scent throw is much better. And the scent is the fresh clean beachy oceany one that I love in the warmer months...or when snow everywhere and you long to feel summery.
I am totally impressed with this one. So if looking for a stronger scented candle...buy this one.

Refreshing scent
I have been a long time customer of Yankee Candle and this candle possess their quality like no other. It is a strong, clean and fresh scent. I would suggest burning this candle on those hot days that you just want to relax and breathe in a clean but uplifting scent that reminds you of outside's freshness on a summer day. Great Scent and I will definitely recommend to all Yankee Candle lovers.

Same scent different name
If you are a Yankee fan and remember the scent ocean water or ocean blossom or from their line at Kohls bubble bath then here it is back with a new name. Same scent, burns strong, great for bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry rooms, someplace where you would want a clean fresh scent. It mixes well with soft blanket or lavender scents.

Loved it!
I get so much joy going in to my Yankee Candle store and purchasing new scents for new seasons. I love the beach scents and decided to give Ocean Star a try. I'm so glad I did! It is a wonderful clean smell that has a medium throw. My only complaint is that I wish it were a bit stronger. But burning two at the same time solved that. I will definitely be buying more!

THE BEST OCEAN SCENT MADE BY YANKEE
I tend to go with a lot of fruit scents and some fresh scents such as Clean Cotton, Sage and Citrus, Pink Sands and a couple others. I have purchased many of the ocean scents in the past such as the wonderful Oceanside and Beach Walk. I do love those scents but when I found this online and received my large jar I could not wait to burn it. I placed it in my large living room which is open to my kitchen with high ceilings and could not believe the throw from this candle! I smelled it within 15 minutes of burning into the house down the hall and every single person that comes in cannot believe how wonderful it smells. Fresh, like the ocean but it has that lovely lotus blossom in it and it is so relaxing and clean smelling and my husband absolutely loves it so much every morning I find him burning it and he is fussy. He said this is a good one and I found myself online stocking up on this scent. What a wonderful fragrant scent that beats last years duds with the summer scents which I had so many problems with due to no scents whatsoever and many, many, exchanges. This new line of the 2014 scents are incredible. I also purchased the Luau Party and WOW another fragrant beautiful scent. I believe this whole line of new scents is incredible and I also went online today to get the wonderful Under the Palms which I fell in love with the tart and had to get the large jar. I will be stocking up on all these new 2014 scents. The only one I had a problem with was the Citrus Tango due to burning 3 times for 3 hours each and nothing. But, I won't give up on Yankee. This Ocean Star candle will not last long in my opinion. I love a fresh clean ocean smell with a floral note that travels throughout the home with just one jar burning. No need to have to light tarts or oils with this one!, I am very happy Yankee may be listening to us loyal customers that had such bad luck last year with the classic scents that lost their smell and throws. I like strong scents (not headache scents) but scents that smell good and many of us with open rooms appreciate that in a candle especially with the prices we pay. I took advantage of the sale right after x-mas and bought about 14 large jars, 25 tarts, some plug ins and oils and am very happy to have a collection that I know will scent my home without having to exchange them and I took the advice from Yankee and always try a tart first before getting the large jars but sometimes you can't go by the tart smell because a tart will always be stronger as you are burning pure oils and the jar is different as it is much lighter. But it does help to burn a tart if your not sure on whether you like the scent. My family is in love with this wonderful new scent and we love Yankee Candles, tarts and the oils and always have one burning in our home. It's nice when company comes over and they actually notice the scent and that's a great feeling to know you got your monies worth! Sorry for the long review but I had such bad luck last year on the summer scents I don't know what happened and had to exchange many but I believe anyone who loves ocean scents should stock up on this one it is absolutely heavenly and also great for men as well. My husband already went through half of my large jar! Glad I placed another order. Also try the Under the Palms which pairs well with fruit scents and/or the Greenhouse scent they are excellent. Thank you Yankee for making this lovely Ocean Star scent and please keep these 2014 scents around they are awesome! Cannot wait to try the Exotic Bloom, Under the Palms and of course the Luau Party which I stocked up on!. Wonderful scents that pair with a lot of fruity scents which I appreciate so much!!

Wonderful Sweet Floral Scent
I love this scent. It is a medium throw , my only complaint would be that I wish it was stronger but I know not everybody likes it to be as strong as me :) This reminds me of Ocean Blossom which I LOVED and miss ! If you are a fan of OB you will love this one :)

This candle is amazing!
I fell in love with Ocean Water years ago and was so disappointed when YC discontinued it. Turquoise Sky came out and is a very similar scent, but this one is even better! I just get lost in this scent. It reminds me of home and is very relaxing. If you like Beach Walk and Sun and Sand I would recommend this one too!

What's happened to spring?
This candle smells wonderful, it very much evokes the smell of the ocean, and it makes me think of SUMMER. Which begs the question, why is this being called a "spring collection?" It was the same last year, all the new spring candles were actually summer candles. I feel like Yankee has forgotten that spring and summer are two separate seasons.
When I think of spring I think of grass, florals, birdsong, gardening... I don't think of luaus and palm trees. For so long I've been hoping for candles like daffodil or bluebell to make a comeback, those true early spring scents. But it seems like every year there are less florals and more ocean/tropical scents. I do love the tropical scents, but I won't burn them until at least June.

Aahhaa... Ocean Water's Baby
Breakdown:
The jar - the beautiful Ocean Reef, the gorgeous starfish, the tranquil sea blue wax alluding to the name 'Ocean Star'... definitely envisioning a trip deep-sea diving in exotic waters off the Caribbean or beyond.
The scent - lifting the lid, the instantaneous scent of fragrant lotus blossom captures the senses and lulls you into what's to come. Marine flora mixed with wafts of airy sea spray beckon for one to just relax and enjoy life. Personally, I didn't pick up on any citrus... just pure clean ocean scents.
The burn - it took about 15-20 minutes before this candle began to yield some fragrance. Light and very clean. About 2 hours into burning and this candle was able to provide a steady, and again, light fragrance.
*For the YC fans who fell in love with and remember Ocean Water, this candle has the same fragrance accords as that of Ocean Water... BUT in a much lighter tone. That being said, I would suggest purchasing more than one to recoup most of the strength Ocean Water consistently gave.

It is Alright BUT No Ocean Water

Wonderful new ocean scent!
I stumbled on a small jar of this at a card store a few days before it was online. I love ocean, beachy scents so I gave it a shot. I am sooooo glad I did. I've been doing the happy dance ever since and I almost fainted with joy when I saw them for sale online.
This is one of the best ocean scents YC has come out with in a long time. If you liked Ocean Water, you'll love this. It's doesn't have the perfume notes of Oceanside (which I've been hoarding) or the "laundry" notes of Coastal Waters (hoarding that one too!)
It's a rich scent with a good throw. I can easily pick out several notes and they work together to create a very, relaxing scent. The color is very appealing and I enjoy the graphic on the label.
All in all, this is a slam dunk and I'm looking forward to burning this for a "scent break" through the holiday season. It's that good! There is no way I can wait until summer to enjoy this one.
If you're on the fence, give it a try. This is such a good scent that even if you haven't like ocean/beachy scents in the past, it's really, really worth a try.
