Unique and Cozy
This scent is truly unique. The first time I lit it, the throw wasn’t strong but on subsequent times it has been strong. My boyfriend thinks it smells like cigars, but I think it smells like wood and something citrusy. It does have a grape candy smell on some takes, as someone else described. I burn it with Witches Brew and the scent is a perfect not basic fall scent.

I’m still not sure
I live for Halloween and wanted to try all the Halloween scents but I wasn’t sure about Haunted Hayride because of the black pepper… I hate pepper, don’t ever cook with it lol. Wished this came in a sample size but I liked the aesthetic so I bought it anyway. It’s the most unique candle I’ve ever smelled… I can’t really pinpoint what it smells like to me. I do smell the black pepper and don’t totally hate it. And it has a sweet smell… almost like an artificial grape candy (even though grape isn’t in the profile?). It doesn’t smell enough like the outdoors to invoke a hayride. A lot of reviews compare it to Witches’ Brew, which to me is way too much patchouli so maybe if you want a lighter, less patchouli version of Witch’s Brew you might like this. I will say the throw isn’t very strong and it is the slowest burning candle I’ve ever burned… the first burn I let it go at least 4 hours and the pool didn’t reach the sides for an even layer. I’ve burned it a couple more times and it barely looks used so could last a while. All in all I’m not sure if I like it yet or not and it’s the most confusing scent I’ve experienced. I would say it’s the “witch’s candy” to Witches’ Brew.

totally "scary" smell.
The fragrance sounded interesting..But, I don't care for it... At first I thought ok maybe not so bad .. But after burning for a few days, I can not say I like it at all. Smelling the cap of the candle it smells nice..However, burning it kind of smells musty or moldy .. Sorry Yankee!

Pleasant surprise! Haunted Hayrides a MUST
This is one spicy and yummy scent! How can I explain? It is definitely soft but 2 original jars scent my first floor lovely. I was set on the Mystic Moon and thought that was arriving but I am very very happy it is this scent,of course the Witches Brew is hands down my fav but unavailable so we were open to this candle. Very mysterious is how I describe it. I think the top notes are interesting and I love that Patchouli base, bottom line I will buy again!

Love this fragrance. Very woodsy with a hint of vanilla and patchouli! Has an awesome throw. Guests have complimented the fragrance and want to take it home!!! I bought a few extra. It’s a fragrance I could burn all year.

Not the fall fragrance feel
I honestly purchased this because I liked the picture on the front and the candle color was perfect for my Halloween decor. The scent, however, didn't match the look. It has a men's cologne scent rather than something Halloween or fall like. It does fragrance the room well and I don't dislike it, but it just wasn't the fragrance feel I was hoping for.

Haunted Hayride Is Good but not Haunted Hollow
I like Halloween candles that lean to the patchouli side. This seems floral, though I suppose there might be some woodsy down notes in there. I really wish that you still made Haunted Hollow, which was more to my liking, and that you didn't sell out of Witches Brew in 10 seconds. I mean Halloween, you would think that you would anticipate a lot of buyers?

Not Scary; but sexy
. These fragrances add a very mysterious ambiance to any room or mood. It isn't for everyone; it is strong and does over power other fragrances if you like to mix and match. I love strong woodsy and earthy tones. The throw is not overwhelming in a larger room. Nice for outdoors at a picnic table as well.

I find scents related to Halloween pleasing…
Good day to you reader of reviews. “Haunted Hayride”…the name itself induces spine-tingling eerie-ness in even the most steadfast fans of all things Halloween. As the flame touches the wick, my mind was filled with visions of seances and the voices of those who lived before us. The wick befriends the flame and they become one, illuminating the jar and it’s purplish hue. I put on my favorite horror movie and turn out the lights. As the film begins, the air in the room begins to fill with the haunted scents unleashed from the candle’s glass tomb. The scent reminds me of wandering through the autumn woods as a child, fallen leaves crunching beneath my bargain bin sneakers, then finally making my way home for steak au poivre and a tankard of mulled cider. The seasonal goodness is almost too much to bear. Quickly I am snatched back into reality thanks to a blood curdling scream thrust from my surround sound system. It’s time to settle in now. I pull my blanket up to my chin and grab a fistful of popcorn. The aroma of “Haunted Hayride” is the perfect accompaniment for any fall evening…or anytime you want to be whisked into the feel of the Halloween season. Thank you for your time. Enjoy your candle.
