Rated 4 out of 5 by from I don't even like peppermint! I don't like peppermint, it reminds me of toothpaste. I was very hesitant to buy this one knowing how much I dislike peppermint..but..this surprised me. Yes, it is very strongly of peppermint, but it's also got a really rich vanilla to it and a hint of what I'd call their "bakery smell". YC has a certain base tone that is present in all their baked good candles, and it's really subtle in here. But together they balance out the icy peppermint to make a really warm smelling candle. It's perfect for the season. I think most of the Festive collection is too heavy and too spicy. This is refreshing with that bite of peppermint without loosing out on that warm sweetness we've all come to love from the Festive candles.

I reserve 5-stars for scents that go onto my "must have" list -- not just fragrances that I adore and will buy again, but would feel like a loss if discontinued. Candy Cane Lane warrants a *sixth* star from me. First, it's a perfectly balanced mint scent -- peppermint complimented with just the right touch of sweetness from what is evidently cookies and vanilla. These secondary scents don't compete with the peppermint, but instead give the overall fragrances a wonderful richness. Second, this candle is the only one that I can burn while in the midst of a migraine, and be 100% confident that the scent won't aggravate my headache -- in fact, the mint is soothing and helps me feel calm. Because of this, I always have Candy Cane Lane on hand in a variety of formats, so I can always enjoy a scented candle, even when especially sensitive to scent. This candle is marketed as a holiday scent, but it's truly enjoyable year-round -- plus it has a really good throw. I can't recommend it enough!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Scent! This is Yankee Candle's best new Christmas scent. It almost seems like a combo of North pole and Christmas Eve. It gives the best of both, and it's not overpowering which I like. Some scents take over the room, and this one doesn't but you know it's there. I hope this one is around for a long time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Throw I love peppermint, it is my favorite scent, so I was excited to try this candle. When I first lit this candle, I could not smell anything, but I decided I would burn it one more time. I burnt it for about 4 ours, right next to me, and I couldn't smell anything, not a thing. Even when I put it right up to my nose, I couldn't smell anything. I think this might be a dud. I do not want to return it because that is a hassle, and I really don't have time to drive there but I am dissapointed.

You see, I was feeling the Christmas spirit around mid-September. The jolliness came early this year. I was thinking, you know what I need? I need to fuel this merry feeling. I need a good Christmas candle. I took a risk ordering this candle. There wasn't a single review on this scent, and generally, I'm not a huge fan of peppermint. I'm sure glad I took that risk. This candle is so scented. It's a perfect peppermint, but it's not very overpowering. It's a sweet, delicious peppermint that is keeping the Christmas spirit alive in my house, even in October. Take the same risk I did and ORDER THIS CANDLE.
