The unit gets plugged into the electric outlet. There is a timer on the cord, with each press on the timer it runs 3 hours for a maximum of 9 hours. Makes a nice statement piece. Hope this helps answer your question

May I use the wax melt cubes in the pineapple warmer or must I use the easymelt cups? Are any of the electric warmers compatible with the wax melt cubes or must I have a tea light warmer for cubes?

I am told that you can, I just have never tried it. I love my melt cups from Yankee Candle. I have used other wax melts in a cleaned out melt cup and it works fine.

Yes the melt cups are used with the wax warmers I think the gel tins are used with their own warmers&nbsp;

The scents last, seems like forever. &nbsp;I burn the wax melt until the scent is week, you will notice when to start with another wax melt. &nbsp;The burner is beautiful and safe. &nbsp;You will love it. &nbsp;I have 3 burners in my apt. &nbsp;Love love love. Go ahead get more than one, I have 2 pineapple burners plus an owl burner. &nbsp;Enjoy a lovely scented environment.

I would not recommend. I empty old scents so that I have the container and then you can place the tarts in the container and use....
