They melt and fill the little hollow. When you want to change to another or clean it I do it while it is warm. It is never so hot as to ignite or burn paper, so while it is still warm, I take a bunched up paper towel and hold it in, pushing down to absorb the wax. Simple and easy to clean. It&#39;s easier to do than to think about. They wax never gets super hot. It is a slow and easy melt.
