Great little device.
This is a manual device. You just press down. This does work with other brand metal air fresheners. I like this option in bathroom as you don’t touch the cap and bottle. Just wipe down with disinfecting wipe fir high traffic bathroom. Have ordered several more.

Hi Chris, thank you for the interest with our Sage &amp; Citrus w/Gray Claridge Fragrance Dispenser Kit. In response to your inquiry, our Claridge Fragrance Dispenser does not use batteries. To use, simply twist the base to Lock or Unlock the dispenser. Insert a canister of Concentrated Room Spray, set the base to Spray, and push down on the top to release a powerful burst of true-to-life fragrance.
