Description
To enjoy your candles to their fullest, a certain amount of care is required. Keeping their wicks trimmed properly will help your candles burn fully and last longer. Specifically, your candle's wick should be trimmed after every 4 hours of burn time. Let the candle come to room temperature, then trim the wick to 1/8-inch before relighting. That length helps create complete combustion, which means less soot is formed while the candle is burning. This is where our Perfect Wick Trimmer comes in - place the bottom of the trimmer flush with the candle surface, rock the trimmer back so that its "elbow" rests on the surface, this keeps the trimmer at a 45-degree angle and helps ensure the cut is to the proper length. Simple! Enjoy your candles and their fragrances, then repeat again after every 4 hours of burn time.

Great Glimmer Trimmer
I bought four of these for Christmas gifts. Of course, I kept one for myself. The scissors are very sharp and cut wax wicks and wooden wicks with ease. This trimmer is especially good for those taller candles. When you light a candle, the wick should only be 1/8 inch high for safety reasons, so this is the perfect tool. Might buy a few more for other friends. Really a good product.

I bought this several years ago to trim my large candles when I couldn't reach the wick with scissors. It was the best non-candle purchase I made from Yankee Candle. It is so easy to use. Just lay it on top of the candle next to the wick. Rock it onto its elbow and snip. Even the most uncoordinated person (like me) can trim the wicks. It works on all size candles from sample size to the largest candle you can find.

Make sure you get one!
I purchased this as a recommendation from a store associate many years ago and came back to get another one for my upstairs. I did not realize how helpful to it is and how highly recommended that it is to make sure that you candles are properly trimmed to keep them burning correctly. This tool does the job and gets all the way down to the bottom of the large candles and pillars.

Very sturdy construction. I can trim the wick in candles that are impossible to trim otherwise. My 100% beeswax candles in glass holders do not burn properly unless the wick is trimmed. This trimmer has been a candle saver. Thank you. God be with you all. Pray the Rosary twice everyday.

Use it with every candle
I bought this because my mother had one. I didn't realize how much I would actually use it. I followed store associate suggestions and cut the wick on each candle before I burn it. I can definitely tell a difference when I trim the wick, verses when I didn't before. The trimmer is so easy to put down inside any size candle to trim the wick, it's extremely hard to do with a plain pair of scissors. Would definitely recommend if you want to get your $ worth out of each candle!

Definitely trim it before use and every few hrs. It helps the candle burn more evenly and you won't get burned off pieces of the wick in the wax

I have switched over for the most part to the Large Pillar Candles, and now realize the wick trimmer won't fit once you're down to the last couple of inches in the large pillars. I have average to small hands and still can't make it work.
