Some are great, others not so much!
I purchased this candle before the holiday season and it was heavenly from beginning to end and I was sad to see it gone. I purchased two more candles and they each started out wonderful just like the first. After several lightings the second and third candle became an ugly brown color on top and smelled so much like urine we thought our dog had gone on the floor before we realized it was the candle. If they could all be as great as the first candle I would buy nothing but peppermint bark all year round if I could, but after my experience with the second and third candle, I cannot reccommed this one to anyone. I shipped them back for a refund.

Pure Peppermint Bliss
I am a little surprised at some of the negative reviews. After purchasing this candle a while back, I was a bit leery on burning it because of the reviews, but now I am so glad I did! To me it smells just as awesome lit as when I first sniffed the unlit wax. My whole second story floor and staircase emanates with the scent that reminds me of Peppermint Patties. No odd or funky smell, no bad discoloration with burning, so perhaps others got a bad batch? I sincerely hope this is the case, because I am hooked on this scent!

Could barely smell it. Disappointed because it smelled great cold. Exchanged it for another scent.

Huge disappointment!
I have always loved Yankee Candle, but this purchase was a huge disappointment. I am just so thankful that I did not give these as gifts...I would have been so embarrassed. As the candle burns it looks like a dirty mess...similar to tar colored snow over clean snow. The scent is okay...but so unattractive to look at! Not sure I will ever buy Yankee again...It seems as if the ingredients used to make these newest candles are very poor quality.

awful smell
Let me first say that I've been a loyal customer with Yankee Candle for several years and they are by far the best candle on the market, well worth the price. Nevertheless, today I lit the peppermint bark for the first time and then left the house. I returned after 3 hours, when I opened the house door my first thought was that the toilet overflowed... yes, our whole house smelled like urine. Our toilets were fine, smell came from this candle. My husband and friend were in the house and they confirmed the awful smell as well. Sure this batch has gone wrong... I called customer service, they said they will send me a new one free of charge, any smell i wanted. VERY PLEASED with the outcome. Threw the candle in the trash, looking forward to getting the replacement. A+ for customer service!!!

where's the fragrance?
This is the most disappointing candle I have ever purchased from Yankee Candle. There is hardly any fragrance.
Not a good value even on sale.

Nice wintergreen fragrance.
Peppermint Bark is very delicate and just the right amount of wintergreen...a favorite fragrance of mine. My husband and I like this candle because it's fresh and long lasting. Our guests like it too!
