Thank goodness for sampler votives.
I agree with other reviewers on the spice of this scent being off.
Is it the cloves or is it the star anise because there's a photo of one on the label.
The spice and banana combo didn't work for me and the medium strength candle's aroma left me wanting to get off the island!

Light and refreshing
I bought this sample votive to test the fragrance before purchasing a larger jar. I enjoy the light coconut scent that is tropical without being in your face. It took about 3 hours for a small room to get scented moderately well. I don't think this is a candle that will eliminate food odors or over-power other scents in the home. It takes a while to get going. I do like the scent and may buy the larger version. I am still unsure. I like candles that have a stronger throw. If I am going to spent my hard-earned money on a candle, I want to be able to smell it and I don't know if that's the case with this one. Great scent, just weak.

wonderful smell
There are no better smelling candles than Yankee Candle Samplers. I love that Paradise Spice has a very strong scent to it and the fragrance last several hours.

PARADISE SPICE IS THE PERFECT NAME!!
This frangrance wafts over me and send me to my version of paradise...warm sand, slight breeze, cool water, and the sun shining on a beautiful day as I lay on the beach and relax.

Artificial candy smell
This candle smells just like banana flavored candy. I think it's the vanilla that gives it a sugary undertone, and it has a very artificial banana scent. I don't get "spice" at all, certainly not cinnamon. I was hoping for a banana candle that didn't smell like baked goods since that's false advertising to guests when there's nothing in the oven. However I know a lot of my friends hate banana candy and they probably wouldn't want to smell it. I might let this scent grow on me, but not when I'm expecting company.

Paradise lost
I love spicy scents, so I couldn't wait to get this one, as the desciption sounded great. Well, after burning for awhile, it smelled like clove with a light banana underscent, and I agree with the other reviewers about there being too much clove. I love the scent of clove, but in correct proportion, like in Kitchen Spice, one of my faves! It almost smelled like a hodge-podge of leftover scents blended together to create a new one. I didn't even let this burn to the end. I took it, and the others that I had bought, back. This one's NOT for me. It does have a good throw.
