Strong high note, which is subtle. Blending of trees and grasses
Reminds me of being on a lazy river, just drifting along with the smells of trees, grasses and some floral infusions which give it it's high note.

Average Cologne Scented Candle
Ok--not to be rude, but I figured this one would be a winner with all the great reviews. I can see why young gentleman might like it, because it smells like a light cologne. If that's your gig, this candle is for you and you'll probably think it's a 5 star candle. The cologne it smells like is "Cool Waters," by the way (but Cool Waters is better, Yankee!).
If you want more complex scents and think this candle should smell like fresh grass, pine, cool water, and moss--then this candle probably isn't for you, as I didn't think it smelled of any of those things.
I will say that it does have a decent throw. Not a strong throw, but also not weak. I would advise others to buy this in a votive first or a wax tart to try it out. I gave the remained of my large jar candle away because I prefer scenting the room with Boucheron cologne for men over this candle.

very refreshing
I have to say I was a little skeptical at first since I was purchasing this online without ever smelling it. I am more of the fruity scents but if you are looking for a refreshing candle - this is the one for you. It truly reminds me of the fresh air I absolutely love this candle and I am soooo glad that I purchased this. I will most definately be purchasing this one again!! It has a wonderful scent that makes the house smell refreshing, I use this in the bathroom and it actually mixes quite well with my fruity scents that I usually burn.

Wonderful all year round
I know this is a Holiday scent, but we love it year round as it gives the air ("throws") a fresh, clean scent that is always nice.

Great scent
My wife and I have always been fans of Yankee candle. We always look forward to the new products that come out each season. Since we started collecting these together several years ago, we have always favored the spring/summer scents. While we had overall liked the products that the company offers, we didn't particulary find anything in the fall/winter months that we both liked or that fit our taste. However, over the past couple of years, we have really enjoyed the fall/winter lines just as much as the spring/summer. This has been one of our favorite fall scents. Its great to have a favorite that fits the fall season. I think this one is hard to top, but I am looking forward to the fall line when it comes out in a couple of months (As a side note, we love the 2013 spring/summer line as well!)

Surprisingly good throw.
Such a light and clean scent, but really does fill the room which is surprising for a nice, light scent. Similar to Clean Cotton but with a hint of the outdoors, sage maybe. Really nice for Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Over the River scent is nice and men seem to love it
I tried the scent "Over the River" for last year's Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. I've used many different scents from Yankee Candles and I love them. But my husband and two adult sons LOVE Over the River scent! They usually don't mention anything about the candles or plug ins I use around the house. But suddenly they all LOVE that one? They also love "Sparkling Snow" scent. I ordered several plug ins in Over the River scent since they all want it in their bedrooms. They wanted me to get it for their cars/trucks also! "Over the River" is not available in car air freshners . Maybe you can make it?

One of the greats!
Over The River is the perfect alternative to your typical Fall fragrance. Don't get me wrong - I adore Cozy Cabin and Autumn Leaves, but Over The River is something different. It's the perfect mix of a sexy cologne combined with a fresh and airy Autumn day. The cologne scent is not overpowering like some, it's just the right touch.
I bought this candle when it first came out and ended up going right back to the store and getting 3 more! I love it. My husband loves it. Everybody that comes over to my home and smells it loves it. I use it year round and in every room, you just can't go wrong with this fragrance!
