Soapstone
What can I say.. It's sturdy ...It's cute,!!!
And, already "black"( no worry for the smoke to show....)
It's unbreakable...!! It goes on the medium candles.
(as somebody said before) I'm very happy with this purchase,
and it goes with the black"holder"to complete the look.
Actualy....., I'm doing a loth of publicity for Yankee Candles
lately....

Doesn't fit all the time
Based on other reviews regarding the fit I tried it on a candle I wanted at my local store and it fit perfectly, but when I got it home and tried it on my other candles it didn't fit. My candles are a mix of both large and medium jars.

Just doesn't look right
Do not buy this shade if you're also buying the matching tray. Nice quality, great workmanship, but it's just too small and when placed on a candle on the tray it looks odd.
Please make the shade bigger at the base so that it matches better to the tray and exchange with me.

Doesnt fit
This was a beautiful set in the store and I didn't even mind the fit on the large jar candle. When I got mine home and put it on the candle it didn't fit. It would not sit evenly on the candle. Is it the candle or the lid? I'm still using it as the store is several miles and about 45 minutes from my home to return.

Beautiful candle shade
The shade itself is beautiful and well made. Unfortunately it is too small. I was determined to make it work, it looks beautiful on my granite countertops! Place your large jar candle in the large Everyday metal scroll large candle holder in the wine collection. Somehow it balances it out and the shade does not look so small on it! Try it, it worked for me!! I gave it 4 stars because I do agree, they should have made it bigger!

Size Matters...
I saw the size listed as 3.25" & knew it was only for medium jars. I keep a tape measure by my computer, so I know what I am getting before it arrives. This is an excellent example of a
well carved piece of soap stone. I have purchased the jar holder with the little match drawer & the votive holder that came with a glass insert. If you order one & it comes without a
glass insert...do not burn a votive in it! It will leak through the
carvings. I prefer burning tea lights in it & all votive holders. ALL three pieces are well worth the price & are not limited to the Black Coconut candle. Great for Halloween too!

I bought this to go with my large jar black coconut....it's way too small.
Will be returning. The description should state what size jar this looks good with. It is definitely to small for large jars.
